Description
I was trying to test a tutorial (it is set as one of my favorites) so I made a brush set of paint splatter. It can be real useful to give a picture a dirty/grunge look.This was originally a small art project in high school that has become extremely popular on dA. Use them however you would like - just let me know when you do.

I hadn't been on in a while so sorry for the delayed reply. You are more than welcome to use them for whatever you would like including the final designs royalty free. I prefer to have the ability to say yes or no so my stuff doesn't end up on something ridiculous - but beyond that - it is just something I wanted to share with the world.

This sounds kind of stupid but what is your technique in making paint splatters?
Do you use ink or black acrylic paint or what?

Nah seems like a reasonable question to me. Well I believe it is acrylic paint but to be honest any kind will work (darker the better). I just mixed some paint in with a little water (to save paint). Got a few brushes and dipped them in paint.
I laid out some white pieces of paper (garage) and then smacked the paint covered brushes against them. This gives you a splatter on a white piece of paper. I then took my digital camera (its a crappy one) and photographed the paper from above. From there you just gray scale and adjust the levels till your happy. Another good thing to try is this [link] It is a good technique for getting better looking black and whites.
If you need me to clarify anything just ask (I can be confusing...I know).
