To the contrary, the experimental nature of the material did present some risks. No, Purple had reached these immense, boundary-pushing levels simply because the Phase 2 implant design had been severely delayed.

It turned out that producing a shell and system that could support 1 billion+ CC breasts was much harder than anticipated! The work dragged on with few breakthroughs. It was not as simple as just scaling up the Alpha implant. The challenges presented by such an enormous size required a radical rethinking of the engineering in all aspects.

So, for the time being, Purple waited patiently. The sale of implants, consulting, and DermaGen funded the continuing work. Perhaps, after Phase 2 was completed, Purple might consider making a commercial version.
