real easy cel shading, you only need like 2-3 layers. it takes a while to get confident when drawing the shadows, try not to just stick around the edges

1 multiply layer: you can add a vertical gradient over the entire skin (transparent to a darker, hue shifted color) in the direction of the sun
1 multiply layer (or use the gradient one): use the same color to shade. use an even darker color for hard shadows
1 glow layer: for the highlights and ambient occlusion

remember: dont use gray colors. shift more towards RED. skin has blood in it
