The colors scare me, the Zelda fan in me is having an aneurysm from those two being together, "Adult" Link's right thumb is kinda'...off, and the colors scare me.
On the one hand, it's totally unique and really well done...but on the other hand, I almost think that the "dots" sort of overwhelm the two subjects, so the picture seems more like a blur of color. It's tough to pick out the subjects, basically.
...But yeah. I'm just bitching for bitching's sake. This is an awesome picture, and I'm inclined to agree with the chick this was made for:

I showed this pic to my older brother, & he also didnt like it so much. To him, Link should be more fierce & edgy. He thinks twilight Link is too soft. Lolololol. But I must add, I was inspired by japanese fanart for this coloring. & you know.. the japanese like what's CUTE & ADORABLE for the most part. A lot of their works are SO fricking colorful! Kekekeke! >w<
...I don't pair them up in any way, if that's what you're worried about..?

Well no, I'm not a real fan of the "realistic" Links, myself. All I meant by that was that seeing the TP and WW Link in the same pic DOES NOT COMPUTE with my Zelda-nerd senses, since they're from different times and all that.
I hated Twilight Princess' Link. I would definitely have preferred something like this over what Ninty gave us.
...But heh, no, if you had "paired them up" I wouldn't complain--I'd just laugh.
Anyways. I caught that "inspired by Japanese tegaki" thing from reading over the other comments here, which...actually kind of changes my opinion on this--if that's what you were going for then I really can't complain at all (the issue with the right hand excepting).
And yeah, I'm always open with my comments! The way I figure it, the artists on this 'site put hours--or even days/weeks/months--into the work they post, so...why would anyone want to hear a "lol xd cool" or "omg thats so good?"
Especially since the commenters are generally artists themselves... >.>

It did cross my mind, the whole "crossing times" thing, but.. I figured that as a Brawl player, you'd already gotten used to TP & WW together 8D
You dont like Twilight Link? The thing 'bout him is that he was too chummy XD Usually, you know.. he's lived by himself, somewhere, outcasted... but in Twilight, he's got a whole gang of admirers from the start. It made him SOFT! (Like his pic! lol)

I don't like Twilight Link basically because TP has the most detailed plot of any Zelda game, and the Link I played as wasn't up to the task.
The moment that stuck with me was when Telma asks you if you know who Ilia is, since she's lost her memory. Of course, you do--you're her pseudo-sweethear, after all. But because Link doesn't talk, Telma just assumes you don't know anything.
Plus I don't like his face. Or his VA. And he wasn't expressive enough. And I didn't like TP in general anyways. And I'm weird like that.

I think they were purposely going for an overly-long game cuz hard core gamers seem to be appealed by that.. them rpgs, for example, are waay too long! +D & yes, it has a very controversial story. Not to mention I didnt get whether Ganondorf even died at the end or what? 8D
I must admit.. I did like the weapons & attacking on horse

I liked the length of the game alright...it's just the pacing that threw me. When you were collecting Fused Shadows the game was awesome aside from a few quirks (like how distended Hyrule is and the aforementioned plot)...but then you hit midgame and all of a sudden the game becomes incredibly formulaic.
Go to dungeon, meet one of Rusl's friends, get Mirror Piece. Wash, rinse, repeat x4. Argh.
AND GOD YES THE GAME WAS EASY
The next Zelda game had better hand me my ass on a silver platter. I'm getting tired of coasting through these games without ever needing to use any of the Red Potions/Fairies/Milk they give me.

...Where was I? Oh right. Portables? Well, my first Zelda game was Ocarina of Time, so naturally I prefer the 3D games to the 2D. Not to say I haven't played the latter or didn't enjoy them, they're just not my top picks. If I had to pick a favorite...I'd go with Link's Awakening, with it's trippy dream-world, obscure Nintendo references, and crushing difficulty...or Minish Cap, which is basically Windwaker in 2D and without the ocean.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, I can't stand Phantom Hourglass. Probably the biggest disappointment for me in '07 was reaching the end of the game and realizing that I had no desire whatsoever to play that game again. It was easy, the puzzles were all either painfully simple or banal number problems, the sailing was worse than Windwaker's, and the plot might as well have been nonexistant.
Blargh.

I must admit.. I never beat Link's Awakening. o_o But since you're mentioning it as your fav... I should go pick it up again. (I got stuck somewhere years ago, & left it there XD). I've heard its soundtrack, tho. Definitely a nice one!

You got The Spinner! O snap it's like a portable roller coaster! Oh wow this is an epic boss fight! I'll bet I'll be able to use this ALL THE TIME outside the dungeon!

Anyway. Don't tell anyone...but I haven't beaten Link's Awakening either. I've been stuck on the 6th dungeon for the past...actually I think it's close to a decade now. I refuse to use GameFAQs or any other sort of outside help--one day I will beat that game, and then I can die happy.

Windwaker fanart, you say. Yes. Mm. Quite. I actually started working on that a couple weeks ago, but I'm still working out how exactly I'm going to go about taking my material drawings and digitize them. It's not just stand-alone pictures, so...
Plus I've got 4 pieces I have to do for other people before that. So it'll be a while, but when I DO get around to submitting them, you'll know em' when you see em'.
