Identification of a person is recognition of identity, recognition of a person's identity.Identification is based on pattern recognition - establishing the belonging of an object (for example, a person's identity), process, phenomenon, situation, signal to one of the pre-selected objects - images.
There are paper and biometric personal identifiers. Paper identifiers include, for example, passport, identity card, driver's license. Biometric identifiers are based on physiological or behavioral characteristics that are individual to each person. These include appearance, gait, handwriting, fingerprints, iris, face shape, etc.
Today there are mainly three methods of biometric identification: fingerprint recognition, iris recognition and facial recognition.
