Heya heya 2023! 8D Only a bit late in posting this--we had a couple of power outages, thanks to the wind and rain, so it took me a while to get around to doing this and at last posting it >v<

I just wanted to draw my sona as she appeared through the years: Aryn/Ember/Kagamy! I've had her since, like, 2011-2012, so she's been around for a while in one form or another. ^^

Far left (regular-ish looking Barn Owl) - Her first iteration! I was on this Guardians of Ga'Hoole roleplaying forum, and I initially made her as the daughter of Nyra and Kludd (who had somehow survived the egg falling in "The Shattering" --if you've read the books, you'll know!) But yeahhhh, she was basically born out of a loophole I thought I found. :"3 I tried to make her an "anti-Hagsfiend" (whatever my young self thought that meant,) but the forum didn't want things that far out of the GoG canon, so I later changed her to a blue owl (not shown here), which was pretty well within canon.

Second from left (eye-scorching-red Barn Owl) - .... I honestly don't know how my younger self managed to find a red somehow more obnoxious than just straight, fully saturated red, but she did. This was the version of Aryn that's probably been around the longest. I created her for a Facebook Guardians of Ga'Hoole roleplaying group, back in the time when Facebook allowed for that kind of fun mayhem. I made her a red owl (I guess because she was hatched during a solar eclipse??? At least, that was my rationale back then, haha!) Same "hatch story" as previous Aryn, but somehow she... went to the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe? (Clearly, my storytelling "skills" were... still evolving, to say the least.) But yeah! Uh... eye-bleeding colors, nonsensical placement--you know, the works.

Second from right (wolf with actually not too bad of a design?? Maybe??) - This is Ember, probably the iteration that stuck around for the least amount of time. She was supposed to be a sort of reincarnation of Owl Aryn, but as a gnaw wolf (from the Wolves of the Beyond series). Some drama happened in the Facebook group around that time (and I'm not proud to admit I probably contributed to it.) So she never really got past the pup/adolescent stage, but I liked her well enough to draw her here.

First from the right (MLP Pony) - Yep, she had an MLP form! I started with some help from @/whisperer-of-winds for her design, before just... taking the colors he used and making them those reds from her owl form. :"D Clearly, I hadn't learned yet. But later, I posted her on a now-abandoned tumblr blog (The-Pony-Raters), who gave her a "poor" design rating. Yep, I could see why. So I changed her to the version I drew here. ^^ She stuck around for a while, but I never had a set story for her in the MLP canon. I just liked to draw her being edgy.

Middle (Kirin) - The most recent version! She now has her own, independent story and design. This version is her "sealed" form, which is the most recent iteration of her kirin form (she goes through changes, depending on what point in the story she's at.) ^^ I'm actually decently happy now with her story and design. It's maybe a bit overdesigned, but I dunno, I like it well enough. Her real name is Kagamy, but she choses to go by the name "Aryn" as a pseudonym for a good chunk of the story and eventually adopts it fully (trying to leave behind her old self, in a sense.)

And there are different versions I didn't include here, purely because I wanted to finish this at least at some point. Like her blue owl version, the different colors of the different forms (a desaturated version of the red owl form, a better designed pony form, a worse-colored pony form, etc.) But yeah! These are the ones I just wanted to draw--no real logic tbh.
