History:

It was early spring in southern Midcairn when Solvi and Rehor, a pragmatic wolverine couple, established Molte Farm. They began to grow common root vegetables and local plants, but specialized in delicious berries. It was a stable business, and the couple were known as calm and respectful wolverines. The farm grew over time, with the birth of kits, the hire of outside help, and the cultivation of new crops. 7 years after its establishment, one of the grown kits, Anja, mothered Fabian.
Molte Farm was a peaceful place to grow up, and Fabian was raised to take pride in his work. He learned till land, plant and tend to crops,, barter, and guard the property from monsters and rapscallions alike. Fabian’s family enjoyed their home grown roots and berries, but were by no means vegetarians. They would enjoy various meats they purchased or traded for, as well as the occasional low tier monster they found around property. As far as wolverines go, is was a simple and honest lifestyle.
Fabian’s father, Espen, was a merchant, but worked on the farm for much of Fabian’s childhood. A year after Fabian, he fathered Rio and Celia, and a year after them he resumed his traveling business, though occasionally visits, bringing novelties from across the land. It was Espen who taught Fabian much about dealing with customers, including excellent courtesy and subtle mannerisms to put any species at ease and get a good deal. Fabian’s aunt, Elise, also left the farm to pursue a career as a soldier, but was around for much of Fabian’s childhood. Elise was severe at times, disciplining Fabian on the concept of guarding the farm and his family. She was exciting at times as well, encouraging wrestling, and teaching Fabian how to wield some of the deadlier farm tools against hostile monsters. When Fabian was nearly a year old, a fox named Ivette came to work on the farm. She mostly kept to herself, but Fabian found himself talking to her often. She’d come from the capital, where she’d seen many things Fabian never heard of. She had an interesting way of seeing things, a bit philosophical. One day, she thanked Fabian’s family for letting her work on the farm, and then left without explanation.
Fabian grew fast and strong on the farm, and didn’t complain to do much of the heavy labor on the farm. There wasn’t much else to see or do day to day, and their only neighbors were other farmers, all a decent trek away. He was often intrigued by who and what was outside of the farm though. At a young age, he quite enjoyed accompanying his elders on trips into town to sell produce, and see all sorts of things. There was a reindeer soldier, Khlahan, who could often be seen patrolling populated areas or investigating the occasional crime. He always looked amusingly out of place, from how he dressed to the way he carried himself. Fabian enjoyed watching him though, until he saw how he treated certain species. One time, Fabian was heading back to the farm with Rolf and an empty produce sled when they found an injured fox. Her name was Zara, and she’d been jumped and robbed. She stayed at the farm a few days to recover, before heading off.
In present day, Fabian’s grandparents still work the farm in their old age, however, it’s Fabian’s uncle Rolf who has mostly taken charge, alongside Anja. Rolf’s son, Conall grew interested in monsters, and began keeping livestock. Now, he keeps a few different harmless monsters, notably a nymdicus flock which roams the farm and takes care of insects. Others come and go, whether to stay and work on Molte Farm or just hired to do an occasional job. The whole family takes festivals seriously and does much to celebrate them, and often invites carnivore loners to celebrate and feast with them. Fabian has good relations with his family, but has grown more independent with age. He’s begun to make himself a small home off of the farm, and visits town more often, ever curious about opportunities beyond farming.
