Star Struck DanceLocated inside the Illusion Center, the Star Struck Dance paints a scene of a starry night sky, apart from the rest of the world.Rules
  • Dress in semi-formal attire
    • Please make sure your outfit is not revealing or distracting to other students, this goes for students of all genders.
  • No Potions or spells allowed at the dance
    • You may use potions to alter your appearance slightly to help with your outfit  but please make sure to use them beforehand. No joke or harmful potions are allowed at the dance.
  • Do not alter the food or drinks available
    • Spiking food and drinks with any sort of potion, alcohol, or other substance will result in suspension or possible expulsion.
  • Do not vandalize dance property
    • Any damaged property will be paid for by the perpetrator.
  • Please act on your best behavior
    • Fighting, inappropriate dancing, or other problematic conduct will result in students being removed from the dance and in some cases harsher punishments may occur.
    • Inappropriate touching or lewd behavior will not be tolerated.
  • No Weapons allowed at the dance
    • Mages stationed at the front door will take any concealed weapons off the student.
Entertainment
  • Music
    • Music will be provided by a local DJ. Members can listen to the music live through the Revoice Plug.dj
    • Members are not allowed to DJ during the event.

Activities
  • Photos
    • Students can have their photo taken alone or with friends at the photo booth, located in the northwest corner of the lobby. Photos are free and will be printed on site for students to keep as a memento of the dance.
  • Dancing
    • The lobby floor serves as the dance floor for students to use.
  • Candle Making
    • A table is set up, offering supplies to make your own star-themed candle. Take a break from dancing and relax with this fun activity.
  • Pond Skipping
    • A “pond” is set up, off to the side of the lobby. Here, the stars reflect against the surface. Students may skip stones across the water to watch the ripples glow and chime. Stones are found in various buckets that are placed by the shore of the pond.
  • Pond Bridge
    • A small bridge arcs over the pond, students may walk across to see the view.
  • Star Fishing
    • Rules:
      • Students will be given a toy fishing rod, they can cast it into the water and reel it in. A small magnetic fish will attach to the rod, the number printed on the fishes side.
      • Students may not touch the pond.
      • First play is free, second play must include a small donation (amount is up to the character).
      • Each character may only play up to two times.
    • To Play
      • Use melabot’s random number generator to determine which number is printed on their fish! Type the following code into chat, the number you get will determine your prize!

  • Best Dressed
    • All members who participated in the weekly challenge this week will be entered into the best dressed contest! A link will be provided once the dance starts. Voting ends at 6pm PST. Prize is a month long membership to the Illusion Center.
Food
  • Catering
    • Food has been provided by students from the cooking class! A small cafe area has been set up  in the southeast corner of the lobby. Students can order an assortment of star-shaped treats that have been provided, including decorative ice-creams, cookies, fruit and more.
    • Please refrain from bringing food back to the dance floor.
  • Beverages
    • As usual, different punch is available along with an assortment of soft drinks and juices for the students. Bottled water is also provided.
