The big cone-shaped thingies of a nuclear powerplant are called cooling towers.

Whereabouts was this taken? It sounds rather crude but I've always wanted to see a nuclear powerplant with my own eyes.

Awesome shot.

You got a nice looking image, but at the same time a sad one.

i don't know but i'll bet that those things polute in some way, and they polute Big Time for what i see

artaos In reply to djairin [2006-03-01 21:33:00 +0000 UTC]

The smoke you can see coming out from a nuclear plant like this one is just water vapour... And water vapour doesn't "polute"

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

djairin In reply to artaos [2006-03-01 21:37:29 +0000 UTC]

ok then, keep them on

artaos In reply to djairin [2006-03-01 21:42:20 +0000 UTC]

I have no idea. Its in Belgium (I think) somewhere, just passing by.

Belgium has nuclear reactors since '74, seven of them now, generating more than half of its electricity.

Quite likely one of them.

that is such a simple composition that works so perfectly. the green glow, the haziness, all contribute to the feel of the shot.
