Crappy doodles are crappy. Everything in this comic that looks like blood is actually ketchup, okay?And panel 2 obviously does not belong to me. (It's a screen shot from the game itself)
Some users mentioned Saya no Uta in my latest poll . It's basically an eroge visual novel (the sex scenes aren't dirty, all you really see is the girl's naked body but still don't play it if you're too young, not allowed to, etc.) I watched the whole entire play through on Youtube (is censored) and thoroughly enjoyed it.
There are actually 3 different endings to the game though:
1) Main character goes back to normal, Saya leaves, main character lives in looney bin for the rest of his life.
2) Best friend and a doctor girl kill Saya and then main character commits suicide.
3) Main character and Saya kill best friend, Saya releases over 9,000 a gagillion spores that mutates the human race into her kind but dies from doing so. Main character is able to see people as normal again because in reality they are all tentacle monsters.

Mhhhhhh. I see where you are coming from. Probably Gen Urobuchi just wanted to entertain the audience with a twisted horror story.
However, I think words like pretentious are very overused in the internet, especially in the anime community. I still think there is a
value in overanalyzing or simply discussing stories, tropes and character backgrounds. LOL It's kinda weird that you are the one who
is saying this, after I had this very interesting discussion about NGE with you.

That's not what I said.
It's clear that Urobuchi did go to a darker and deeper place with this story, it's one about loneliness, insanity, and boundless love. But apparently "crazy mofo" is the only thing that people see in this story, as if all those deeper aspects flew right over their heads. Just look at this comic, just look at all the comments. This is no different from those Eva parodies I talked about.
So, why should we even bother understanding the themes and messages of this story when clearly no one gives a shit?

I love this game.... T_T It's actually really, really sad....and I teared up at parts. The hentai sort of....brought the greatness of Saya no Uta down...but it still was such a good game.

That's definitely "Saya no Uta/沙耶の唄" in a nutshell. 
As a result of watching the creepy game via someone doing a play through of it on YouTube, I'll be skipping chicken liver, foie gras and any kind of animal organ matter for the rest of this week. Though cooked meat is not an issue.

About the game:
I'm not into eroge, hentai or yaoi or anything like that, but I played the game because I heard the story was really good. (Which it IS.)
It is possible to see all scenes without sexual content on youtube though... (>_> Why didn't I go to youtube before I downloaded the game? At least there's a skip button if you really don't wanna see their sexscenez...)

I played this just last night. I was like, "Y U NO HAVE GOOD END, SAYA NO UTA!?!?"
It's, like, ultra depressing, but a little reassuring in that no matter how bad you think your life is, it's not as bad as this guy's.
Unless, of course, you see normal people as meat monsters and meat monsters as super-cute lolis.
