Description
Peculiar how the clouds gofrom pink to gray,
So quickly as the sun sets.
And funny how much
More comfortable I am
The faster I go,
The louder it gets.
Pink cares
Need fixing
Hanging before a waning sun.
So I turn up the music,
Because I?ll be in need of repair too
When all is said and done.
The ride home is always worst;
When I?m speeding past trees
Beneath an immobile sky.
The ridges in the dirt road,
Drown out Beck.
Like those on the side of the highway.
I take the turn too fast,
begin to slide,
An old woman gives me a dirty look.
Everyone should remember a cause isn?t lost
Until it?s just too late.
The ride home is always worst;
When I?m speeding past trees
Beneath an immobile sky.
That rubber band broke,
And I?m not over it.
Smooth pavement,
The rest of the way home.
Back where I came from
Back to what I?ve known
To be less than that which
I left for in the first place
With the sun high in the sky.
