If you are thinking about making a custom furred or flocked animal from a commercial plastic or resin model, you might want to check it's scale/size as compared to a traditional 1:12 dollhouse miniature scale. Why does that matter? I recently received a message from someone who was upset because she had purchased a lot of plastic animals on ebay in hopes of customizing them for resale as flocked dollhouse miniatures, only to find they would not work for 1:12 scale. Scale DOES matter if you want to make the modified plastic model animals for most of the dollhouse miniature collector market. If you are unsure as to scale prior to making a purchase for customizing the plastic and resin with new paint and a wooly coat (or happen to use the plastic models as an example to hand-sculpt your own polymer clay pieces, or make press molds for use in resin casting, etc.), it's best to check the size with a scale conversion chart first.
