Description
Tuojiangosaurus multispinusOriginal artist: Paleocolour
Original lineart: sta.sh/0cuci6filw3
Colouration: Flowerback Box Turtle
Physically similar to the North American Stegosaurus, Tuojiangosaurus is the best understood of the Chinese stegosaurids. It was around 7 metres long and 2 metres high.
Tuojiangosaurus has the typical narrow and low head, bulky body, and low teeth of other stegosaurids. The limbs, especially the arms, are rather short. There are at least twenty-five dentary teeth. The teeth have a thick base, cingulum, merging at the inside into a triangular vertical median ridge. The dorsal vertebrae have tall neural arches. The shoulderblade has a rectangular acromion. Tuojiangosaurus had two rows of plates along the spine, which became taller over the hip region. Those at the neck and front trunk were rounded or pear-shaped; the plates at the rear back became more triangular and pointed.
Skeletal reference: Tuojiangosaurus multispinus
Artist's Note:
While creating this Tuojiangosaurus I used Mr. Hartman's skeletal as reference, but reposed the tail and neck to be more relaxed and pointed downward. I felt this gave the animal a more natural posture. I took inspiration from a rhinoceros for the thick skin ridges along the shoulder and belly. I have coloured the shoulders brightly as they would be vibrantly visible when facing the animal head-on, being either intimidating or alluring depending on whether you intended to eat this animal for lunch or not.
I'm going to start creating work-in-progress animations for my personally drawn art, as I have had some people asking about my work habits.

Nice to see some of your own work too. I was wondering for a while how it would look like compared with the usual coloured version of other artists.
Was not disappointed
