Description
The ponies...they move...ON THIER OWN. IT'S GHOSTS...That, or I tampered with the scenery too much.(Also, I apologize for the super long delay. Had to move back home and go on vacation and take care of some yucky personal drama. I gotta live life, man!)
This was hand-drawn with a blank ink Copic Multiliner 0.5 tip and a black Prismacolor Premier double-ended art marker.
Gyfcat Mirror (larger, too!)
SUPER SMOOTH FULL QUALITY STABILIZED VERSION (All thanks to to the wonderful Lahirien )
AWESOME COLORED VERSION (Lots of love to kdlp313 for his Photoshop colorization)

I converted the gif into mp4, brought it into iMovie, hit "stabilized shaky video", and converted it back to gif. In retrospect, iMovie is probably the last piece of software that I would want my animations to come close to, but I was getting sleepy and it was the only program I could think of off the top of my head that could give me a quick stabilization. Somewhere through all the conversions I more than likely compressed the hell out of it. That's what I get for being lazy (and tired).
If you want to give it a shot in Photoshop, go for it!

Also, pro tip! The preview image can be animated too if you use a 150x150 px or less gif for it.

gfycat.com/UnevenGranularCob Here you go! ^_^ Perhaps not quite as good as your method for stabilization, but at least it's full quality.

That's awesome! It looks a heck of a lot smoother!
I'll put this in the description and give you credit for the hard work.
Thank you so much!

This is kind off brilliant
You've really captured the smoothness of the original animation with this traditional piece, it's quite astonishing really

I love those little imperfections in the lines! Makes me wish the show had gone more in that direction.

Yeah, man! I've worn the hell outta my marker's label from use and both ends still work like a charm.
I used this as my paper: www.amazon.com/Pro-Art-9-Inch-…

Not many people do this often, and it's a skill that can be hard to capture. You did great with this and it's very smooth. Well Done.

Imagine if they decided to make the MLP movie with hand-drawn animation!

Traditional art animated xD Looks soooo awesome!
Must of take a looong time huh?
Have you tried stabilizing the shot in a film editing program? It could make the camera less shaky, I guess...
CHEERS! GOOD WORK!

Wow! Those lines look really bold and clean! Awesome job ^^
How did you capture the animation? Did you take pictures of each frame and put them together on the computer or did you record it like you would for stop-motion animation?

Pancake-Skunk In reply to I-am-His-artist [2015-06-01 13:54:14 +0000 UTC]
Hey thanks!
I recorded it like a stop-motion animation, just placing each frame on the board in the same place and taking a picture.

No problem
Cool I've done that before. I animated something on a whiteboard a long time ago back when I had a camera that was capable of stop motion. I wonder if taking photos of each frame and putting them together as a fast slideshow would work? I'll have to look into that...

Great work! How much paper did you have to use. It looks like that took you a long time.

Thanks!
This one has 29 frames of animation. (Albeit I used up 32 pieces of paper because of some drawing mistakes on my part.)
I started this one back in April.

The animation looks quite smooth.
While I am no expert on this, don't you usually make holes in the paper and then put them in some kind of ring binder that does not give the paper any room to move around?
