While Phillip and Sylvilia were learning witchcraft, Sylvilia so happens to find a book with a spell that causes anything to inflate. She and Phillip then grab a balloon for her to test the spell on. But when Sylvilia proceeded to cast it, it ended up going to Phillip instead.
