So it seems I'm circumventing any step towards speeding up my workflow by making pages even more complicated and almost doubling the number of characters I have to draw per page. Oh boy.

Damn, these descriptions are basically turning into iPad and various software reviews. But that's mostly all I think of writing down here. I spend so much time inking and editing that workflow changes feel like the most pertinent thing to talk about.

I finally caved and got Clip Studio Paint for iPad.

Not a huge fan of this subscription payment model (PRO version is $25 USD/year) that seems to be iOS-only, but its still cheaper than some other subscription models I've seen.  I originally bought the PC version a while ago with a one-time payment on sale, and it was very worth it. I prefer working on this program to working in pretty much any other art program at the moment, which might make investing in the iPad version worth it.

It's also got a lot of art program features I've been missing from the other programs I've gotten for iPad, like not-crappy layer management, masking, manipulating selection areas, vector lines, animation, flipping the canvas view without literally flipping the whole canvas, being able to type freaking TEXT, draft and reference layer types, and so on.

The UI is not quite as optimized for tablets, but it is workable. This is the only time I've really felt the limitations of the iPad screen space, which probably says a lot.

IPad users can get the EX version (basically the fully-featured version) as a free trial for 6 months so its basically free for half a year already, and if you end up hating it, just stop the subscription.

Clip Studio Paint also has cloud features, which is very useful now since I'm going to need to sync art files across multiple devices. Its been working out so far, and I switch back to my old setup when I want to use mouse and keyboard or just take advantage of a bigger screen.

Hopefully that thing isn't seeing Sam (or rather, his hood) as a potential mate, cuz that could get messy real quick
