Description
This is my friend Angie, whom I have drawn for her birthday todayI had to rush this a bit to get it done, I've a massive amount of school work now, but I got it done and everyone that saw it was stunned
I especially loved the expression on my chemistry teacher's face who was just utterly shocked and amazed
And also Michael's, who stood beside me and held the drawing and all he could get out of him was "Fuck off!!"...8 times
The reason why her eyes look a different is because she has heterochromia ([link] )
Time: 5 hours
Materials: A4 bristol (yeah I invested haha
0.7 and 0.9 H mechanical pencils
eraser
Drawn from a photograph she gave me which I cannot give a link to because it's not on the internet.
Enjoy!

Love it, those pesky secondary school art teachers always told me to stay away from H pencils, why o why! I will now reject this and have to try for myself, very inspiring I just want to draw a portrait now lol. I'm doing an art course now btw, must draw!!

Oh don't listen to them, they say don't use anything apart from 2B and 3B, thats bullshit... I use mechanical pencils in H and HB and they're the best I think, never need sharpening
I think the best thing to do is try out different pencils and thicknesses and see what you like to work with the most, and not what some person tells you... I'm still trying out different methods of drawing every single time I draw so it's all a giant process to finding the right thing
You're the second person who said they're inspired by me, i'm flattered
Awesome, where and what is it like?? Tellmetellmetellmetellmetellmetellmetell me

I have to do it yet, have to design some pottery and do still life first. But doesn't anything above 2H damage the fibre in the paper?

Ah okey Well I can't agree that it would damage the fibers, then again it depends how you use it, if you dug the pencil into the paper and scratched the hell out of it then yeah I guess it would damage it, but I use mostly mechanical pencils so I use them lightly so I don't break the leads and I generally use anything above H only for light sketches, not any shading etc, so my paper gets very gentle treatment.
Also, printer paper isn't too good, any bristol or card is much better, in fact I discovered that in SuperValu/Spar they sell a pack of 50 sheets of A4 white card - its in a blue pack by The Diamond Collection - and it is fabulous for drawing on it, and it's only E2.99 so you don't need to buy any expensive bristol or anything
