As for its chest, not an expert in dragons, but I would think it's actually softer than the exterior. Sort of like an armadillo is only super resistant on the outside.
Not a perfect metaphor, since an armadillo is not a reptile, but... Never mind.
But being soft on its chest would justify the need lots of dragons have for armor...! Just a thought. Feel free to ignore it. xD

Thank you for this great cmnt! I was rly glad that you wrote your suggestion! i think i will ask the commissioner what he prefer! But your metaphor was good also it is not a dragon but the sentence is good
