critique heavy eh? okay well we will see what we can do (realizes we are talking in the royal we). It is a great picture. It invokes great emotion. Also your characterization of Lucifer reminds of the one portayed in Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Your use of light as a means to sculpt the form is working pretty well. Althought I would say lean a little bit higher on the dark shadow tones, especially when things overlap. I have a good sense of where the light is coming from, it seems to be coming from about where the wings start and is going diagonally down and to the right. So I would say just remember to cast the shadows in the same way you are using light. Also the feathers could use a little more individual attention. Because it looks like he is wearing a giant fluffy mattress. So getting some wing referrence would be good. Even going to the local pet store looking at the birds and taking pictures. Wings are a wonderful thing to know how to draw well and I think you are almost there. Otherwise this is a beautiful viniette of the dark prince, which is indeed ironic being that his name does indeed mean light bearer. The smartest and brightest of angels challenges God. Kinda makes you think. Which I think is the really strong aspect of this piece. Well done.

Hi Pandora,

Superb piece of work, you've given it a really sensitive atmosphere, I agree with the earlier feather comments, getting in there with some high detail texture work (even if it was slightly stylised) would really take this drawing to another level.

Great work tho, good sense of solidity in it.

sorry--no advanced critique on this one Pan, it's too good for words...I love the lighting, coming from above, and the wings look a little like a womans legs dont they? Kind of weird and seductive at the same time. Either way, it goes on my fav list.

I know you don't need to be told this, as you have been a thousand times now, but...well shit...thats just a great drawing. It's the kind of picture of the devil that makes me go "See that guy? That guy right there? That's the friggin' Devil! See? SEE?!" I point. And they see. And they gaze in awe at the bane of their exhistence, And I say "That's Right! It's Satan! WUTANG!"

(...Im not a Satanist. I guess im an aethist, but I believe in the supernatural, so does that make me agnostic or...I dunno)

It's really good! I like it a lot, you've made him look nice a sorrowful. Plus it's a really unique take, very original concept to draw Lucifer this way, which is cool.
I think to improve it you should put some more feathering on the top parts of his wings though. They look too smooth.
But yeah, I really like it Well done!
