Description
Years ago, on the evening before the opening of Sunny Shah's Circus gallery show, when all the pieces had been hung and I had only to kick back and recuperate, I suddenly felt I had a miracle in me. Any who know me know that my pieces, rendered with a pencil lead the width of a razor blade, take weeks or months to finish, but somehow that night I managed to start and complete an 24x24" drawing on canvas. Lo and behold, it was my first thing to sell the next day, and so I never got it back! Delighted as I was with it (as apparently was my customer!), the OCD in me had always wished I'd had another month to fiddle with it and sharpen those details down to a micron. I've never actually repainted anything from the scratch before since my project to do list could fill the next decade, but I suppose the mood was upon me!! And so, I proudly present my redux of this artwork, "You Can't Stab Me in the Heart if I Don't Have One" (always was a clunky title, I know)
