Description
I saw this piece inked by Arthur Adams and got a big chuckle out it, so I colored it. Gumby was created by Art Clokey in 1953 as a good natured and fun loving stop motion animatd clay person who with his friend a talking orange horse by the name of Pokey had adventure and at times taught a moral lesson. My question is what was the tradegy that made Gumby don the cape and cowl and turn into a Caped Crusader and a Dark Knight of Justice and tell his quarry in a low grumbly voice... "I'm the Ba-Gumby... Damn it!"? Was it the melting of his folks or the gods forbid the destruction of of his best buddy Pokey? The world may never know because I have no idea... (well maybe but I ain't tellin'.)
