Description Wind blows chilly on this fall day
In the back of my uncle's convertible
We'll Be Singin' Bye Bye Ms. American Pie
As my twin cousins' red hair blows in the sky
Its getting later as bedtime aproaches
But sleep never comes when caffine is involved
That song remided me of what happened
The other day an Ice Cream truck drove off
I was waving and screaming as poetry died
with exhaust and a dinging bell
I guess I was the only one that noticed
But a tear fell on the pavement

hey, i like your poem... im not totally on the level you are as far as your experience and memories go with this ritual. i like the personalization but common-ness of it as well. your writing is unique, and straight foward... well done!
