Although I doubt I may call myself a real "artist", I found the title fitting very well.It displays my current situation. I've just started going to an arts school and practically I'm becoming a designer or an artist, however you want to call it. In the picture, the face is still in the process of being painted, just like my skills are in the process of being developed and improved.
The face will probably never be completed, because nobody ever reaches a status of skill where they can say "I'm here, I'm not going any further". This is a metaphor for the inner self and the will to improve (no matter how corny that may sound, hehe).
The only filter used was EyeCandy for the hair and the beard (and I barely EVER use EyeCandy or filters like that, I was just in a hurry because I had to do this for school and I wanna sleep at some point because I have to get up really early), (ok, and once I used the movement tool for the background, as you can see).
As usual, please comment, I need feedback.

Well done, I completely agree with you. Great graphical representation that you used to portray what was going on upstairs. This would make one hell of a poster. Excellent!

hehe. i've seen that episode.
i recently switched from graphic design to computer science because i was fed up with the way that they regiment art at my university. for a graphic design degree, you need to take like 3 art history surveys, a painting class, printmaking, illustration. all that is unnecessary for a graphic designer to learn, and that's for a BA. i could understand having that for BFA, but for a BA is just ridiculous.
i was talking to my friend about this and he made a comment that i strongly agree with: real artists don't go to art school except to develop their skill with a certain medium. that is so true. the core of art is creativity, and no one can teach you how to be creative. it's something you either figure out for yourself or don't accomplish.
