Description I dreaded that first Robin, so,
But He is mastered, now,
I'm accustomed to Him grown,
He hurts a little, though.
- Emily Dickinson

Yeah, it's cynical but what the hell.

There were a bunch of Robins by my house. I actually ran into one that was learning how to fly from it's parents. It fell to the ground and looked up at me, baby feathers still sticking out of it's head. It seemed interested in me and would not move or fly away when I got too close to it. But its parent's angry tweets gave me a signal to keep my distance. When I saw him make a few more hops, I decided to run into the house and grab my camera.

But when I got back outside, the little bird was gone. It took the big step of life and flew. Good on it. So I looked around and found some other birds. This one was running up and down my roof with a worm in it's mouth. Keeping a sharp lookout for any other hungry birds.

Ack- your photos are so pretty. I like the focus on the robin, and how the whole picture is set up. Very nice.
