Description
Artistic development.
I know there is an actual photograph that is pretty popular going around that is the same thing, but I keep seeing this over and over again, whether itβs in a museum, coffee place, supermarket, street, everywhere.( and I am pretty guilty of it myself!).. so.. here it is!
Also,, on a different note. We're moving this weekend, so there won't be any new stuff for the next couple of days .
This one is a fast one before I shut down.. I wasn't going to use my images again in the back, but I just don't have time right now for more.
The characters are a little blockier than usual because I used a square brush since that was the last setting on photoshop and I didn't bother change it. I'm saying this because so often I am asked what tools and brushes and effects and tablets I use to do my sketches, when really, it doesn't matter all that much( it matters to a degree.. it would be hard to do color work with something that has NO colors, but..it's just a tool)
Anyhow..
Have a great weekend.

The lighting in your paintings is the reason I started watching you on here. It gives your work a warmer mood to it than it would have without that good lighting. Good luck with moving! Hope it's an adventure for you and your family

I like that you called it "Artistic Development" instead of something snide. Whether it be on our phones, in the towns we live in, or in our house, we're surrounded by different forms of art. Much of the stuff we have on our phones has been designed with purpose and to be visually appealing. How we consume and connect with art and what forms appeal to us may be changing, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing...just different. We can huff like old men and croon for the good old days as we look back with nostalgia tinted glasses, but where's that get us? One thing I *have* been wary and aware of, which relates to this scene, is taking pictures. Some people have managed to turn chronicling their everyday life with snapshots throughout the day into an art form. Half of me wonders if they remember things better or if they only remember things through the context of looking at their screen. Once in a lifetime opportunities at amazing museums, historical sites, or amazing points of nature...spent looking through your phone or camera. Half of me wonders if we lose something from the experience when we're too busy trying to catch a visually appealing shot to upload later. I admit I have just as much of an urge to whip out my camera and go nuts so I have pictures to look back on, but I worry what I could be giving up when I "disconnect" with my environment to *snapsnapsnap*. I've tried to refrain from doing so when I get somewhere--just taking a few moments to just *be* in the moment before I pull out my camera--and when I have pulled it out, I try to make the moment brief. I always love the lighting in your work. Despite how "simple" the work might be, your use of lighting and composition is always visually appealing. Many of your pictures pop out and grab my attention with their lighting.Β
