Description
Ok, for those who may just be joining me...I am showing my process for character creation/design (using a supporting character from my creator owned project... ).NOTE: this is NOT the same character as in part 1
This is part 2 of the process.... click the link for part 1.
[link]
I wanted to mention in this entry that when I develop a characters look/style, etc.... I also add "character" to that character.
What I mean by that is ...personality, emotional state... you get the idea.
Sometimes I do that by just having them say a few things in a word balloon with a matching expression.
Later, I can go back and remember the idea I had for their personality by this process.
The character pictured here should come across as a sorta' dingbat with a light hearted temperament.
She would prolly would be used for comedy relief in heavy situations... if need be.
She has the potential to cause major trouble as well... just by her lack of common sense.
Anyhoo, I wanted to throw that in for this segment to show that there is more to the process than just the visual elements.
I'm sure most all of you do this same process.... it's not rocket science... but for those who may not be knowin', I hope it helps!
THANK YOU for taking a few minutes to check it out!

Heya' Josh!
Just so ya know.... this is NOT the same character that was in part one... that beeyotch is still.... well.. beeyotchy!
She will see more visual changes before I mention her personality.
Funny you mention that THIS one reminds you of Melanie from the Josie and the PussyCats cartoon... that is EXACTLY who I had in mind when I drew her for this post! Seriously!
Good one bro!
The whole point of this post was to mention my process of putting the character in characters before I jumped back on the evolution of the 1st one.
Confused yet?
Yup, me to!

not anymore thanks for clarifying. I got the whole evolution of the character wording stuck in my brain without reading both on the same day. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Character in character, I like that terminology. very catchy. I shall read more closely from now on. Lol. Later dude.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I do when I create characters too, except it's all mental. But sometimes I screw up and just create character names and visual looks without giving much thought to personality...when I do that, the concepts usually don't work out.
Anyway, this is really cool. I never get tired of looking at your style. She certainly looks like a bit of a dingbat. Put the shorts on a diet? ...Yeah.
Nice work!

Thanks Jonathan!
As far as the word balloon in the pic... my comedic stylings are lacking for sure, but hopefully you get the gist that the character isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer!

I didn't really read what you wrote, I just saw a hot chick on the front page and clicked.
Nice work, it caught my eye.

I did bother reading afterwards, but its really, pretty stereotypically obvious, from the picture what you were describing.
