This piece is actually one of my favorites. I spent all day looking up pictures and videos about cats dying, so I could get the mood and the poses just right. I tried to make Patchstar look as regal as I could--she's definitely deserving of that--though she was old, and her fur is unkept. If there was any way for my baby girl to go out, I'm glad it was through a natural, old age death...and with her best friend, the last original MoonClanner other than herself.

Joltflash, on the other hand, I tried to capture the moment where she realizes that 1) her best friend, her leader, is dead; and 2) that she had to now step up and fulfill her role, as Deputy of the Clan, she is next in line to become leader. Who to choose as a Deputy? How to break the news to the Clan?

Despite everything...these two. I think it was a nice tribute for both myself and Tomoelu, as the original MoonClanners, to see our babies together for the last time.
