And…last battery is in! Perfect! Now, Karen, prepare yourself to see how sometimes- *realization* Oh not again!K: What is it this time?
I’m now seeing double! There’s the regular Sidetable Drawer and Mailbox on the ground, and then there’s human versions of them! And it has nothing to do with magic this time!
K: So, what’s with this?
Well, I was going to tell you all about how these two basically grew up together before realizing that they were in love with each other, but this wacky vision on the camera is now making us see Mailbox and Sidetable Drawer spending time together on Valentine’s Day, which they call Love Day, while the human counterparts are kissing!
K: This is just making me feel worse…except for the human Sidetable Drawer design. Is there a reason behind…why she looks so tanned?
That’s…her actual skin color. Her first and second voice actresses were close to the exact skin tone. Big notes to the first actress, who managed to play the role for all of the original series. It’s a hard thing to accomplish when voicing a kid character. Especially when you are ALSO a kid yourself. Not to mention other programs that you could get on during that time.
K: Oh! Now I get it. But…well…I really want to be with someone. Someone to hold, someone to spend time with, someone who is just right for me!
Hmm… *idea* Karen, I actually have a small story for you.
K: Oh? Explain.
Alright. *throat clear* Once upon a time, there was someone who desperately wished to find their true love, so they set out on a mission to find them. They searched for miles and miles before finding someone special to them. For the longest time, they enjoyed each other’s company and presence, but soon enough, they had to break up, so they did. The one who thought they found their true love spent so much time trying to rid themselves of the relationship, while the second one accepted that even though they were with the other person, they had a change in mind. Eventually, that first person grew to accept the change and eventually found brand new love, which finally came together in a happily ever after. The end.
K: That’s a good story, Vernor.
Do you want to know who the story is about?
K: Yes please.
It’s about… Fandroid.
K: It is?
Yeah. They wanted to find their true love deep down, but inside of the factory, it was hard. Then, with their relationship with GLaDOS, it went well, to the point of a robot marriage, but it all ended after Fandroid completed Portal 2. GLaDOS was perfectly fine with dumping Fandroid, but they couldn’t do anything to get GLaDOS back to them. Eventually, they knew that getting back wouldn’t be possible and eventually went on to accept the change, left that past behind, and now, they’re with Izabella.
K: But…what’s the lesson?
The lesson is that sometimes, life…can be a big jerk. But no matter what happens or how everything goes, you can get through life. Sure, you don’t have love now, but if you try to find your own love too quickly, you might end up in a similar case to Fandroid, or even worse if the other person is even MORE sick. Take your time, discover what your preferences are with people, find your own version of the dos and don’ts of a relationship, if you need to make accommodations for them, talk it out with the person, and eventually, you will get your own happily ever after.
K: Wow… When you do put it that way, I actually feel…better. Like fully better.
Exactly. Valentine’s Day isn’t all about romance. It’s about ALL types of love! Except for the downright sick and cruel types. Those can just die in a fire. Back on topic. As long as you know that love is spread across multiple different paths, and all of them can connect to you, it doesn’t really matter if you develop love at first sight, or gone through multiple relationships, or even known each other for a long time, you will always be loved in one way or another, because He always loves you.
K: Wow. You’re right, Vernor! No matter if people passed on, or they went through messy relationships, or even grew one with time, as long as someone at least loves them, people will never forget them, along with accepting what happened.
Exactly.
K: Thank you so much. Now, let me ask this. Is there a way for me to look into an actual relationship? To see how two different people do them? I can start collecting data that way.
Lucky for you, there’s another project planned for today. An “after the story” type of project that will help you out. Aurobot and Shannop’s very first date. But first, I need to figure out who has been messing around with the cameras. Because I’m not having another situation where the cameras get messed up when I use them.
K: Good idea.
