Description
“Let me tell you of the Legend of our land. Below the depths of our very ocean lies a Kingdom known as Hyrule. Once a vast and beautiful Kingdom, that was thrown into turmoil and despair by the villainous Demon King. The man who had shown the greatest evil was after the sacred treasure; the Triforce. The Triforce, forged by the three Goddesses Din, Nayru and Farore, will grant a single wish of any beings true inner desires.
The Demon King was able to have the Triforce in his very hands until, the Hero of Time, equipped with the blade of evil’s bane, stepped forward showing great Courage to thwart the Power of the Demon King. Assisted by the Wise Princess they were able to defeat the Demon King. However the Hero was never heard from again. The Demon King was sealed away to the Sacred Realm, but escaped. In an attempt to prevent the King from taking over Hyrule again, the Gods flooded the land, causing everyone to take refuge on top of the Mountains.
Centuries have past, and the Demon King was wrecking havoc again to take over the land. In Order to do so he kidnapped girls with long ears in attempt to find one with the Princess’s blood. When the land was thrown into despair again, the Hero of Winds commanded the winds and reawakened the blade of evil’s bane with Triforce in hand defeated the King. The results of the battle, caused the lost kingdom of Hyrule to be washed away never to be seen.
The Hero of Winds and the Princess went in search of new land together, which will be the New Hyrule that we live in today. 5 years ago, another Demonic Monster known as Malladus arose to wreck havoc in New Hyrule, but the grandson of the Hero of Winds, Link, was able to best the beast in all of his efforts...He saved the kingdom, he saved the Tower of Spirits. Most of all...he saved me...”. Closing over the story book, the children are looking u p at the girl. Eager to hear more of the story one of the children shout. “And then what happened Princess?”. The girl being revealed as Zelda smiles as she looks at the sketch of the Hero of Time and Winds on the Story book. She brushes over it and looks out the window. “Why don’t you see for yourself” she said as she spots Link’s train coming over the horizon making it’s way towards Hyrule Castle.
Down in the train Link is polishing his blade, as he looks over the hills to see the battlefield that held his battle with Malladus 5 years ago. Shuttering at the thought of the beast attempting to take over Zelda’s body, he pulls the whistle on the locomotive to alert his arrival.
Zelda gets up and eagerly walks towards the door. Suddenly she looks at the group of children. She had no excuse than besides sneaking out to see Link. “Duuuh...Class Dismissed everyone! Great job today! Hehe” Zelda laughs and bolts for the door. As she leaves the school she bumps into a tall, slim man wearing a blood red cape that looks quite aged. Guards run over to Zelda and the man.
“Princess, are you okay? Did this man hurt you?” one of the guards yells. The man helps Zelda up. “No, I’m fine, it was my fault. I rushed into him as I was making my way to the boarding station.” The guards lower their weapons and smile at her humbility. The red caped man stares at Zelda. “Princess...Zelda?” The man says. Zelda looks and nods. “Yes, are you okay sir?” The man begins to laugh. “Oh this is great, I’ve longed to meet you Princess.” Zelda slouched a little and apologies. “I’m really sorry sir, but I’ve got an important duty. I’ll come back whenever it’s completed okay?” “Oh my, so polite. Here take this as a small token -- Hmmph!” The man clicks his fingers and a single rose appears with diamonds materialising around it. Zelda smiles and bows. “Why thank you, such a kind gesture! See you soon!” Zelda puts the rose in her hair and runs towards the station. The man walks down an alley way and looks at his hand. “She is still as beautiful as ever.” He mutters as he vanishes leaving diamonds materialising.
Link moves his train into the station and hops off. He carries off some of his belongings in a chest. He puts it down on the platform and sighs. Looking at his locomotive, he remembers all the adventures he had with it, venturing across New Hyrule and discovering new land. Suddenly, Link gets tackled to the ground by Zelda. “Hehehe, gee Link, you must still think that I’m a spirit sometimes, hehe.” Zelda chants with a subtle wink. Link sighs and gets up.
Walking through town, they approach a small cafe, Zelda pulls Link to an outside table and sits at it. After the catch up and listening to Link’s latest quests, Zelda places her hand on Link’s. Link blushes and smiles back. “Link, I’m so glad to have you back. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years now. You’re still my hero after all this time.” She slips her hand into her satchel, and pulls out a strange shaped object and places it on the table. “My grandmother had this in her hands before she past away, and she gave it to my mother, and my mother gave it to me before she past. They call it the Wind Waker. Legend says that you can control the wind with it, but I don’t think the power is in it anymore. Maybe you’ll figure it out, you’re always good with the ‘hidden potential’ stuff” Zelda smiles as she gave it over. “Happy Anniversary Link.” Link lifts the Wind Waker high above his head with a DUN DUNN DUNNNN!
Link puts the Wind Waker in his belt and digs through his chest and pulls out a strange purple mirror that looked like it had an eye for a lens, and hands it to Zelda. Confused Zelda raises the mirror and scratches her head. “So what’s this then? Wow!” The mirror began to show Link behind it. Link smiles as a text box appears on the mirror for Zelda to read. It says [I may not be able to talk much, but this mirror tells the truth about how I feel about you, Zelda.] Zelda giggles and leans over to give Link a kiss.
Suddenly, a train cart gets launched towards them. Link jumps into action and pulls out his Whirlwind from the chest and blows a tornado stops the cart in mid-air and it slams into the ground. Link runs to Zelda to see if she’s okay. “Thank you Link. I’m a little startled but, what was that?” Zelda pants. Link notices a figure appearing from the dust cloud around the train. “Well, well, Link. It’s great to see you haven’t changed.” emerged a voice from the dust, Link digs through his chest and then readies his bow ready to shoot the target down. “Don’t recognise my voice Zelda? How cruel! We just had a lovely little moment a while ago!” Zelda looks at the figure coming from the dust cloud to reveal the man with the red cape.
“Link, hold your fire. Who are you?” Zelda instructed. The man pranced around the broken train cart laughing. “Oooh my this is rich! I doubt your ‘Legends’ mention me anymore do they? I do play a vital key role in your bloodline, Zelda.” The man removes his hood, to show his grey face and silver hair. “I...am Lord Ghirahim. And I dear Zelda will need you to come with me.” Link yells as he readies his arrow at Ghirahim. “Ah ah ah, watch it Goron-for-brains, one wrong move and your precious Zelda could get it.” The mysterious figure snaps his fingers releasing a diamond matter that surrounds the rose in Zelda’s hair spawning a Boko-Baba from her hair and wrapping itself around the Princess. “AHHH! LINK, HELP ME!”
Link drops his bow and attempts to swing his sword at the plant, until Ghirahim teleports her beside him. The Boko-Baba’s vine wraps around her mouth preventing her from screaming anymore. “Now listen here Link. If you wish to see your precious Zelda again. I suggest you meet me on the Great Sea. Hmm farewell mortal!” Ghirahim proclaims just before he vanishes with Zelda, suddenly a giant red arrow falls from the sky and hurdles towards the town, Link stares at the arrow falling towards him, he puts his sword back in it’s sheath, and runs off.
As he’s running through an alley he spots guards staring at the arrow, Link commands them to evacuate as many people as possible and take cover. Sprinting towards his train, the arrow smashes into the ground in the center of town causing the arrow to split into hundreds of smaller red arrows shooting in all directions exploding buildings, plants, animals, even people. A stray arrow launches towards Link. As Link attempts to bat it away with his sword, but he trips and his sword falls beneath the platform. Just in the nick of time, his old friend Alfonzo sliced the arrow in half. Alfonzo picks Link up and jumps into his train and takes cover. The arrows must have been exploding for over 10 minutes, before they stopped.
Link and Alfonzo exit the train cart. The once lovely Hyrule Castle Town was left in ruins. Walking through the town, the buildings were all destroyed, but there seemed to be no deaths, just heavy injuries. Link sees Zelda’s Teacher walking through the destroyed courtyard. The old man runs towards Link and grabs his conductor jacket as he sulks to the ground, as if he was begging. The teacher lifts his head and he can’t control his tears.
“Link...” He mutters. “It’s happened again, hasn’t it.” Link nods and looks at the wreckage once more. Link looks around for his chest, until he realises he left it in front of the cafe. The young hero sprints off to find his old weaponry. He makes it back to where the cafe once stood, now all that remains is rubble from the attack, but it seems any customers from inside made it out. Link digs through the rubble to try and find anything that is still in tact. His bow? Snapped. Whirlwind? Crushed. Whip? Sliced. Bomb Bag? Ripped. Anything that poor boy could’ve used was damaged. Even the Lens of Truth was smashed into a million pieces.
“So. This is what the situation is now?” Alfonzo said as they were boarding civilians to Link’s train. “Boy, that girl loves to get herself captured by freaks... What was that? The Great Sea? My father Gonzo came from the Great Sea with your grandfather, and Zelda’s grandmother....So that Ghirahim said he’s taking her to the Great Sea? Well... We’re in a tough spot now. The only way to get to the Great Sea is by ship and not many people have ships these days, Locomotives are the future after all. Hmm. Hey, didn’t old man Niko used to be on that same pirate crew? Maybe once we get to Outset Village from here, you can ask him about that?” Link nods in agreement, as he finds his sword at the bottom of platform along the tracks. He quickly hops back up and boards his train in the engine room, transport these people to Outset Village safely.
