This is the first in a series of seven creature drawings I'll be making! This one was fun to make, but a challenge in that it can be difficult to make an insect drawing look anatomically correct while also giving it the quality of movement. I chose to start with the mantis because insects form the bottom of the pyramid among the animal kingdoms, in that they are essential to almost every ecosystem on the planet, and yet they are the smallest and most rudimentary of creatures.

The Copic Marker colors that I used in this drawing:

(Greens) - G28, G21, G17, G07, G03
