Description
So before the month started, like last year gave me an idea to draw something for MerMay if it fit one of the prompts, that idea being a monster from a Yugioh card called uh... *checks DMs* the "Tearlaments Kaleido-Heart". I don't really know who he is, what his story is or how he's significant in his own pocket of lore in the Yugiohs or in the card game... and I don't really care either frankly, but I do kinda like his interesting design with him looking like an Octopus merfolk except with a gaggle of eels for tails instead of tentacles, and for what I had planned for MerMay, "Blue" seemed like a good enough prompt to draw him for. Which yes, also explains the Breaking Bad reference in the title of this piece, as well as why Blue from Netflix's Sea Beast is here as well.
Also, because the artwork for this guy looked a bit complex, I just decided to forego the lineart and hard shading for this piece and just stick to a colored sketch (also similar to my sketch for Yuu last year, huh). If anything, not bothering with the lineart allowed me to go deeper into sketching some of his smaller details like all the shapes of his stained glass looking drip (oooooohhhhhh, maybe that's why he's called "Kaleido-Heart", that makes sense)
