Done for Free Comic Book Day at Silver Snail which is the day after the Wolverine movie comes out.
When i was asked to do a painting for this, i had one goal, to make it as mayhem-y, chaotic and crazy, r-rated and brutal as possible because i'm anticipating the opposite of this from the movie. So i wanted fullfill the GTA's blood thirst after watching this movie. Also, COSTUMES...a must since they're absent from the movie. What do you think? Successful? Yes? No?
There's this picture of Wolverine in this X-Men Ultimate Guide book that i have and the picture has Wolverine standing on a motorcycle getting blown to shreds by bullets and he has this look in his eyes that's not crazy, but focused and really pissed off. I love this picture, don't know who it's by but i wanted to do my version of this (without the motorcycle). That's the most hardcore rendering I've ever seen of him. Jim Lee recently did a Wolverine piece where a lot of bullets have been thrown at him. But he looks too casual for what i'm looking for.
So there it is, Deadpool Vs. Wolverine.
References? A LOT.
Alternate title?... "Open Wide and say 'Ahw'!"
Thanks to for the help. Without her this would have a few differences and would not be horizonal, the angle of ultimate bad@$$ery.

I remember buying the print off of you at the Fan Expo, I still have it in good condition, one of my favourite pieces in your gallery, you captured deadpool's and wolverine's character really good. Are you going to be doing any more for prints for the Fan Expo, If so, what are you working on right now. Please holler back. Peace out

the picture you're refereing to (the one on the motorcycle) was made by leinil yu in a story where wolverine hunts down a villain anmed the "white hunter" or something like that

i love your take on it when compared to the movie. On a gore level i think you did good, if there was more blood added i think it would cover up too much or the badasses there. Maybe if you had taken away some smoke so you could see a floor and maybe a wall and then have blood spatter on it.
And you did a great job at making wolverine look torn up, pissed and focused.
The only thing i wonder about though is the white on deadpools face behind the grenade. Is that his skull? if it is, then yea gore such as peeled fless and blood would look alot better there.

First of all, thank you so much for one of the best, if not the best, constructive crits i've ever gotten on this site. Hopefully, i'll be able to do the same for you when you post some work yourself.
The reason why there's no floor - mainly, didn't have time to come up with a background. I didn't want to do some generic warehouse or industrial building. But i think you're right. A wall or floor would be an opportunity to introduce a history of chaos.
The white on his face is just, actually his skin. Against red it looks too pale/white to be skin, i guess. I had Wolverine slash his face and there are 3 cuts in DP's mask. No skull though. I wanted to put more blood and such but the red would interfere with the black shapes of his mask.
Thanks again.

Hey no prob im just glad you took it the way you did, i was afraid i might have given off the wrong vibes. Yea okay now i see the lips and everything under his mask, i guess it just took another look and some conformation that i'm wrong
As for commenting me back, well i pretty much suck at drawing. I'm trying to learn but right now I'm horrible and comparing someone like you to me doesn't even seem like a reasonable decision. I'm just able to tell other people what's good/bad with their picture with more than the average
"instant fav!"
"awesome!"
"i love it!"
"XD"
or "FIRST"
so thanks for the offer but if i ever do put something up expect it to have so many flaws you'd be up all night listing them

Everybody that i've talked to says something like, 'drawing well takes practice practice practice.'
It's good that you have your instincts on other people's work, now you have to apply it to your own work.
Life drawing's really helpful, even if you're drawing cartoon characters, caricatures, cartoons or anything not realistic. You'll learn about proportions, muscles/anatomy, different poses and lighting and all that very helpful stuff.
Another thing that helps, is seeing how a professional does his/her work. I watched this one artist, Gabriele Dell'Otto, do a painting and it really has strengthened my work and my confidence (or so i like to think).
And don't worry about flaws, nothing's perfect.
