I figure the yellow icosahedrons are antimatter containment vessels. The big cylinders contain water. When it's finished the bit in the front will open up like the Clavius hanger dome in 2001, and inside will be the ship's lander.Related content

it does... Speaks to how our brain works at a certain age... But also, the designs that went into the 70's Gerry Anderson shows were brilliant - even if they were (deliberately) derivative of films such 2001.
