This was made with my Wacom Volito tablet. It's all freehand.
I had this idea some time ago but I was too affraid to draw the transparencies. Have been avoiding it...
So, I finally found some courage to let it all go. It didn't hurt that much. I'm not too pessimist about the result. Although I needed some reference to draw the animal body.
That, in case it doesn't look like one, it is a Fissalia ,a living organism (or several organisms each one with a specific function) that lives at the surface. I read about it some time ago and it really fascinated me.
It represents the society here...

So, hope you like it. This is nothing visually spectacular but I decided to submit it because it is important to me.

First of all, congrats on the frontpage. It's really well deserved, as your latest submitted works are nothing short of amazing.
As for this piece, it's "just" another brilliant work built from a very interesting concept, so well explored and executed. Great job on the transparencies (i really had a laugh when I read that part on the description as I find myself sometimes with that same problem). Drawn, smooth transparencies are a bitch, indeed. lol
So... I guess I'll just give you your 89th fav for another wonderful piece of work from one of the two or three portuguese artists that, in my opinion, deserve to be on the frontpage on a regular basis.

elegant, i shall never look at a jelly fish the same way again. the colors are serene but repetitive. perhaps some red , pink or flesh tones on the baby(even veins) or trailing down the cord to counter the excessive blue and create a sence of pulse and being. otherwise a very powerful peice.

What your imagination manages to show on the canvas/monitor amazes me every time. This is good work, very good! i'm so inlove with the colours especially the blues. And the details on the baby, with the red veins, makes it even a bit creepy, but that's good i like creepy
Also the design/composition is great and gives it an extra bit of.. greatness.
