Description
'The End' that many souls seek is never quite 'The End' they want.I believe some people would agree with that. Like Joey and Henry. Mainly the latter. The two were (and still are) in search of the end, only to end up later seeing that "The End" was just the beginning of a bigger story to be told.
Their endings seemed to lie within a reel of film, one that would eventually get lost in the depths of the studio for a long time, and when played, would bring the end.
Oh,how they wish that were true.
Both of them used the reel with the same objective: to kill an ink demon.
Oh,how they would love for that to happen...
...
...The reel did not bring the end.
When Joey tried to kill the demon years ago,he managed to stop him...temporarily.
Eventually, the creature would come back to haunt Joey's life once more.
When Henry tried to kill the demon when he returned to the studio years later, the same thing happened. The Ink Demon has been temporarily stopped.
Big difference was that now the old animator, the demon and the rest of the studio were now stuck in an eternal loop.
Looks like no matter how many times you use that damn reel, the Ink Demon will always live.
A mere barely functional reel of magical film and an old man with an axe will never stop this twisted beast.
----- ------------------------ -----
I don't remember the last time I drew both Joey and Henry on the same picture. Of course, they're not (technically) in the same place, and they're at different time periods. But seeing both in the picture is still interesting to see.
We have something interesting here. I've mentioned this event a few times already, but for this picture,I'll have to re-explain it again.
Both my Bendy AUs,Toon City Adventures and Return to the Studio, have partially similar timelines.
They are separated into 2 parts. The first part of the TCA and RTTS AU timelines are very similar to one another, with several of the events, scenarios, interactions between characters and among other things that happen in one TL happening in another.
The timelines remain almost identical to each other until the events of what I call "Day X". From the events of that day,the timelines of the AUs (the second parts of the TL in this case) stopped being "almost identical" and started to follow very different routes, making them very different from then on.
The events of this "Day X" are basically the day the Ink Demon died.
Or at least...almost died.
The Ink Demon, as mentioned/shown before, was originally harmless when it was first created. At least not then.
Over time, the creature began to "grow",began to evolve and become more violent (I'll explain this ""evolution"" he had someday) until a point where the beast could not be tamed anymore. Methods used to keep him imprisoned started to be useless, and something had to be done.
And that's where "The End" Reel comes in.
Joey,as much as he is not a "professional cultist",he knew and had gained certain knowledge of these arts when he started studying them during development on the Ink Machine, and because of that,he managed to come up with a solution to end the Ink Demon finally. That solution being,of course, the End Reel.
Joey attracted the demon and locked himself with him in a room and used the reel against him (the demon),similar to how Henry did in Chapter 5.
Result? Well...the result depends on the AU.
In Toon City AU,the reel worked, and the Ink Demon died. Yay,minus one on "list of problems Joey has to solve"!
In RTTS AU,the reel managed to stop the demon...temporarily.
He managed to reduce the creature to just... umm,ink puddles? He practically went back to ink puddles is what I mean.
But Joey doesn't know that. And because of that, well...it could be said that the "list of problems Joey has to solve" is going to get a little longer. After all,the non-death of the Ink Demon in RTTS is what unlocks a small (or large) chain of events that lead to the main events of the Return to the Studio AU.
Oh,what about Henry? Well,I won't say much about him at the moment, but I can confirm that no,it's not fun having to repeat the same story at least 400 times. Especially when you consider the fact that there are times when he's aware he's in a loop.
It's not fun at all.

The mini "story" at the top took longer than it should have.
