Description
Polychaets, as well as many other invertebrates, exist in two largely independent body forms (larval and adult). Image shows a polychaete annelid from the family Sabellariidae in two different developmental stages. Trochophora larva has only two active HOX-genes, the adult worm has seven.Related content
