Oh, poor bird T_T
You captured the mood very well IMHO. I like the desaturated slightly sepia look.
Back then, when we had budgies, we used to hold them in our hands like this when they were ill. Birds just look too cute when you hold them in your hands.
The bird is not afraid of you, right? Somehow they seem to understand that one wants to help them.

It looks like such a caring image at first glance, but the more I look at it the more sinister it becomes. This is mainly due to the chick having been de-beaked, which only really happens to chicks that will be raised in confined cages and rooms in order to stop them killing one another from frustration.
I think it's unlikely this little bird was rescued by this man, and the only other explanation is to see him as a tool in this violence.
One thing's for certain, whatever life awaits a de-beaked chick, it won't be lonely.
