Description
A DD?Happy 10th Birthday DeviantART!!!!
This is dedicated to all of the new friends I've made on deviantART
My submission for #fella 's "What Is DeviantART?" Contest [link]
This took about 3 days to do. Sometimes it took up to 15-20 minutes to set one frame, such as the ocean scene.
I used a Canon Rebel XS mounted on a tripod, and the photos were taken by hand, no remote. The music was a recording of me playing an original piece just for this project on piano, taken with a Flip camcorder on tripod.

Great job, omigod. Although it's not the smoothest animation I've ever seen, it doesn't need to be. The music flows greatly with this, and I love the simplicity of it. The fire works look good, and the fact that it was made out of little star beads is just adorable Fantastic job

Oooooh. They looked like beads because some of them were shiny.
You're very welcome . Keep up the great work, and congrats on the DD.

Man, that was really cool. I like how you talk about all these people like "community of artists + friends." I can truly see that much time and effort went into making this.

Windows movie maker will work, it's free too Unless you have a mac, but they have iMovie or something
Just get a basic idea, make some designs, and go with the flow

Pawkeet In reply to Meg-Star [2010-08-08 04:48:38 +0000 UTC]
Just google search windows movie maker, it kinda depends on if you have XP, Vista, or 7. I would suggest older versions, like 2.0-3.0 they're better for stop motion [link]
If that doesn't work let me know. Or google search and find a better one. When you put your stop motion together, you just go to options and set the image duration to the lowest
Let me know if you need help.

how do i set the time of the pics?
if i move them by mouse the minimum is 1 sec but i want to make it less but i dunno how XD

Pawkeet In reply to Meg-Star [2010-08-09 17:19:01 +0000 UTC]
No it's fine! I explained earlier, but I have a different movie editor so it might be different
Open Windows Movie Maker and go to Tools, Options and the Advanced tab. Change the "Picture Duration" to 0.125 seconds. When you drag your pictures in they will be as short as they can go

Again, nice job.

It sometimes took around 15-20 minutes to set each still. Each star had to be moved one at a time. The waves had to flow towards the left, the boat had to be remade each time from the water's movement, the fish had to be moved down, the clouds had to be moved across and, the letters had to be formed by slowly dropping down the stars.
