Description
Everyone alive then remembers the day. As Centauri gets ready for his big arrival you listen to his father's stories about the day we found out we weren’t alone.
“It was first picked up by the Big Ear at Ohio State. Ironically it was much like the Wow! Signal a strong narrowband signal that lasted that lasted for just 80 seconds.
It normally would have been the end of it some novelty to stir up conversation about alien life.
Until another message was received at two different telescope arrays in Guizhou China and Luzon in the Phillippines what sounded like static interference of screeching and buzzing sounds for more than an hour.
The meaning of this message was never discovered if it had one all we knew was that it came from somewhere in the constellation Centaurus.
There was an air of silence for hours afterward. Surly this wasn't a coincidence. Did we really make contact with something a civilization that wanted to talk to us?
The question lingered in our minds for days, weeks.
We got our answer when the skies went alight in great streaks of fire fell from the heavens. Morning light revealed them to be large capsules that harmlessly parceled to the ground. The first one landed in the center of Kinshasa it made the media go into a frenzy
All around Limete Tower were birds not like any that I’d seen before. Birds with teeth in their jaws and claws on their wings and long tail feathers news came out similar birds emerged from capsules in cities in China, Mongolia, and Spain.
Examination of scientists concluded that based on their scapula and coracoid the birds were Enantiornithe birds that died out at the end of the Cretaceous with the Dinosaurs.
Other capsules began to emerge. Extinct fish being drudge up in the Mediterranean Sea, early relatives of Crocodiles in the pampas of Brazil and Argentina, extinct flightless birds in Australia Pliocene megafauna in midwestern North America and Siberia extinct penguins and seabirds at the poles.
We had made contact that day but with something far more familiar to us. People called it the coalition although in action it’s a supranational union of over 150 members. All descendants of animals from Earth.
Man's first encounter with another sentient creature wasn’t like The Day The Earth Stood Still, Independence Day, or Arrival but a homecoming Earth’s other children finally returning to a place that their president Galaxy believed would never be found in her lifetime.
Once the excitement and introductions were over and Homo Sapiens was officially registered as the newest member of The Coalition a more pressing question came to Earth's collective thought.
None of the Coalition knew where they came from their fossil records began abruptly with barely a layer of algae and microorganisms below when the planet was terraformed.
The Coalition's main scientists Chlorine and Bromine kept a diligent record of all life found during the Coalitions travels and they already had an accurate map phylogeny of the tree of life based on their carbon dating they started at the end of the Pliocene and started at the Earliest Triassic.
That left us with the three big questions.
What was around 250 million years ago collecting earth organisms?
Why did they stop 2.58 million years ago?
And most importantly to the Coalition it seems where are they now?
I wasn't happy with Broken Ocean so I'm rebooting it with a more focused direction in mind
