That looks so amazing!
Seriously, how are you doing this? I love how you have drawn this! The colours are beautiful and the skin looks awesome.
And the idea with the hourglass is great, as is the way you have drawn it. The matching colour of the sand is a nice touch too.

...Seriously, how are we supposed to exceed this?
This is great, fantastic even. The distortion of her face in the hourglass looks very natural, nothing to be worried about at all. As for what I love most about this, I don't even know where to start. It's just too good, and I don't mean this in a bad way. If I should give you one point of advice, I'd say this, although I feel like a total noom giving a tip to a master: try to make it a little less perfect. The girl on the photo is pretty, but she's not a Barbie. Imperfections are what makes a face interesting to look at.

Aw, it's not about exceeding someone else, it's about having fun and interpreting the reference
Thank you very much and I do agree about the perfection thing too, but she's just such a flawless looking girl it felt right .... that and colour pencils are very new to me, so I guess some fear was in there too Hopefully as I get more used to them I can be a little more adventurous.
P.S. I'm anything but a master, I'm on a learning curve and appreciate all feedback

Of course! It's not a match, but I do use the drawings of others to pull myself up to (if that's proper English). I'm always looking for things tha I can use for my own drawings. But with yours, I just have a feeling of uselesness. Like: 'What do my drawings have to add? This is already perfect. I could just as well quit.'
Not that I'm going to, but hey, one can't silence their thoughts.
For someone who's new to colour pencils, this is even more impressive. But I hope you get used to them as well. What will that bring? Even better pieces? I'm curious.

Oh no, please try and not feel like that I only joined dA about 14 months ago and couldn't draw a portrait at all! I've just kept at it and do exactly the same as you
I look at things and think, okay, that's where I want to be now and practice until I get there. There have been many a tantrum and pencil thrown too
Your work is lovely and of course adds to dA and our growing draw-along gallery! Don't ever doubt yourself and create just for you, if others love it, then that's even better.
I have no idea what the colouring thing will bring, but I do hope it gets better, they are a lot of fun

Oh I know, I'm just being dramatic. I will keep on drawing until I stop enjoying it, and I don't think that moment will ever come since drawing is a way of expressing myself. Deviantart is just a place that can both motivate me and make me hate my lack of skill. And though the latter can be demotivating, it's most important that it's fun to do, not that it's good what you produce. Although those two often go hand in hand.
Anyway, thanks for your kind words. I know all of this, but it's nice to hear it from someone else now and then.
The same goes to you, of course! I had a quick look into your gallery and I have to tell you again: You are amazing.

Outstanding as always. I noticed I can pick your art out of dozens of drawings. Even though you are doing a likeness, you have your own signature! (not talking about where it is signed)
