Description
I determined walking around campus today that I would start a new series: "Dogs In Boulder"-- Since Boulder is a very dog friendly area there are generally lots of them around with their owners. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera at the time of my inspiration: a Golden Retriever pulling a woman on a skate board. When I got my camera and went out later I only found one dog, but If I go out every day I should soon have lots of images of Boulder Dogs. This Sheltie was walking with both her owners on campus. When I asked if I could take a picture of her they were very amused. that might have had something to do with the fact that I was also kneeling in the street to get the picture.

I should do that for where I live this summer, when I go down to the parks and stuff....people might think I was nutz though. Beautiful dog, my grandmother was planing on getting a Sheltie, but she got a collie/lab mix instead.

I've noticed that people are generally alright if you ask before you take the picture. They might be confused but they generally think it's funny too. I keep to photographing pets because I'm always afraid of scaring the parents by asking to take pictures of their kids.

Lol yes it would seem slightly frightening if a stranger came up and asked that. But I bet some would be alright with it, if you explain and they are there. I will try and ask this summer some people down at the lake with their dogs.

n'aw sounds fun! I'll bet they were proud that their pet had attracted the attention of a passionate photographer.

I love her pose. She seems very content in front of a camera.

she seemed like a happy puppy just to be out on a walk. My machine and I were much less interesting than her 'dad' who was behind me
