Description
Just trying to shake off my current funk with a little style experimentation. Would love some feedback on how I could refine this style, if not some reference from similar "heavily inked" styles. It makes me think of those old posters with the shapes cut out of black felt you where supposed to color in. My cousin had a few of those, and I thought they looked neat but I had yet to discover my love of art (Beyond doodling bad DBZ knockoff characters...) I think I was always more of a story teller first, though not always a good one (hell, I probably ain't all that good now.)Anyways I think people can expect a lot more black in my art from now on, not that my stories will necessarily reflect this. It's just looking back at a lot of what I'd like to gun for stylistically, heavy shadows and true blacks are key visual elements. If people can do dark stories with blood and gore everywhere using a cutesy cartoony art style, I think I can tell any story I like in a dark shadowy art style.
Edit: Updated this a bit added some "soft" shadows & fiddled with the color & lighting a bit.
