Description
"A scholar should never waste their time drawing cartoons."so my father quotes.
Ashamed, I bury myself in books in his presence. But the more I read, the more I end up drawing something in his absence.
Books and their stories of people and their achievements has become a window; an escape where my imagination speaks of my dreams and hidden desires.
You see, I've always wanted to be an astrologist.

That's beautiful. As always, an amazing concept. It's so amazing how you can think of him sort of drawing the moon and AUGH there's so much going on here that my words fail to capture it.

I think I'm going to leave the penciled parts in pencil... I'm afraid that if I ink it the whole picture will be... black... and many details would be lost...

I like the use of weighted lines as well as the dreamy atmosphere you created, but there are a couple of things I'd like to comment on if that's alright.
I really like the pose first of all. It gives the character presence even though he's sitting, which can be difficult to do. However, the lower half of him could be improved in my opinion. For example, the cropping off of his left foot could have been avoided if you took a little more time planning out the composition of the piece. Also, his legs, when compared to his upper half, look very flat. This is mainly because there's hardly any definition on the jeans. You could add some shading or a few folds to help make it look more life like.
Overall I like it though.

I can relate to how you feel about books and windows of imagination, but I wish I could have the capabilities like you do to release what I have in mind haha. I neither draw nor write like so many others could. And especially not you my friend. Most inspiring XD

Okay okay, serious comment now:
I really really like how you did the inking on the smoke. It shows good texture, and helps it contrast from the character. I also like how you didn't just stick to one medium and used some pencil.
The checkered pattern is a little off looking, but overall it looks pretty fantastic.
Also, your forearm's supposed to be the same length as your foot. In proportion/anatomy.
(Minus that, I can't see anything else that's off in my eye? Trying to do the advanced critique but aklsjfds you're better than me so I shouldn't even be talking fff)

This is what makes your picture so powerful In my opinion. I hate it when artist place their art in traditional when they actually draw it out and edit it in photo shop.

As for the drawing.. It inspired me so much I immediately started drawing myself.
It looks so wonderful, I love the whole "I"m drawing the moon while reading a book".
