Lately I've been feeling like my old design on him was a bit plain, so I wanted to make a more detailed version. Here's a retelling of his backstory!

Sonic was born June 23rd, 1973, a whole 30 seconds right after his brother Manic. Sonic's parents were nobles in Acorn Kingdom. His sister Sonia was 10 years older than him and was left in charge of the twins frequently. Because of this neglect, Sonic would be mute for several years by choice and would keep to himself. Lady Aleena would often ignore her children to focus on being a socialite, and Jules was chief of zone police, his Uncle Charles would eventually learn from Sonia what was happening and would watch over the kids more often. Sonic's grandparents were all gone before he was born, but Charles kept their memories alive by retelling their stories from old wars they fought in together to the children. When Sonic was five, a family friend by the name of Ivo Robotnik and his wife Martha would kill the King of Acorn kingdom, and Sonic, Manic, Sonia, and Charles would escape to Knothole, an old campsite made to keep the Royal Family safe in the event of an emergency. Sonic would pace around all night the first night people were being escorted into Knothole. Eventually an orphan fox named Miles would be brought to the camp, who at the time was only a few weeks old. Sonic was taught by his Godmother Longclaw how to hold the fox and immediately he calmed down. Sonic would forget his parents faces over the years but be fascinated by them hearing stories of a rebellion in what used to be Acorn Kingdom now turned Robotropolis. He would beg his girlfriend and future camp leader Sally to convince her brother and current leader Elias to let him go on a mission in the city. Eventually, Manic and Sonic would go to the town in search of the rumored rebellion. Manic told Sonic never to go looking for their parents, not believing that their parents were the heroes they were claimed to be, but Sonic found them anyway. Tricked into staying behind, Sonic would be captured by Robotnik and his memories of Knothole were wiped from him. For a while it was believed he was captured, until Sally organized a rescue mission only to find him laughing and smiling with his parents inside. Believing Sonic was a traitor, he was never allowed into Knothole again.

But Sonic always felt something was off.

For one year he believed he had rescued his beloved Uncle Robotnik from an assassination attempt and suffered a head injury. Which is why he has no memories of his family. But this past year he's begun to notice that his parents have no photos of him...

It's a bit odd that no memories have ever come back though. The stories were never familiar. Something was wrong.
