time to distract myself from work woes and info dump about my oldest ocs manifesting themselves into plushies!!

but if you don't feel like reading that no worries!! it's not like i put my heart and soul into that! i'll explain here:
when i was in 4th grade when i remember having a definite interest in art and drawing. (i think i was actually coping off my classmate but i already loved animals and animation)

inspired by my love of cats and cat and dog friends, i made a girl cat of unknown breed named Cece and her little sister Coco. quickly making a dog 'brother' for them named Rex, who i usually drew as some sort of beagle. and his little brother Snoopy.
once i started drawing them they were constantly on my mind; daydreaming them in different stories/scenarios. i think i was so quiet in school bc i was so invested in my little imaginary world in my head and on paper. they went through alot of different times in my life, all the way to 10th grade. they were kinda like the kids i wanted to be (Cece was outgoing and silly and Rex was chill and smart) the friends i wish i had. their stories were often a reflection of the media i consumed and how my peers and teachers treated me. around 11th grade i started thinking about new characters (who are much more developed now) and Rex and Cece and all their friends kinda went on the back burner.
there were a couple instances where i tried to 're design' them and make them relevant but it never really stuck (i go into more detail in the doc). fast forward to about a month ago when i finally got to adopt Everest the Douglas Cuddle Toy White Retriever and Margot the tortie cat. when i got their package, they were hugging eachother!! i knew that they were gonna be friends and they needed some new names! (i don't always re name my douglas! just when i have a vision in mind lol)
i was randomly reminded of the name 'Cece' after reatching a cartoon from my childhood, and all the memories of cece and rex came flooding back.
something i really love about Cece the cat is her folded ear! it's totally on character for her! one day soon i'll draw them both and give them their solidified personalities!

i felt like i couldn't write this all out on instagram. but next week im taking my parents anniversary pics and i'll take these 2 and the instagram post will be awesome... hopefully!
