Started thinking up a new character. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, but didn't know much about how it looked... so here is my whole planning/playing around with the stuff. The general concept was a hard composite 'frame' around the chin/jawline/side of the head, and a softer, plastic-like visor fold out from it and become a visor to be worn for protecting the face when flying around (not so much armour like, not made for much impact at all). Also there must be some kind of indication where the eyes were under the visor.

The variations that I came up with are on the left, the ones on the right are the final ones. I just kind of made them up on the fly so quite a number of them are ugly. But whatever. #2 was the draft that looked the most like what I wanted so I went with it. Also made what it looked like from the front with the visor folded back. That's not what the character's face really looks like btw. The things over the cheekbones are there to help guide the visor when folding in/out.

The side-view has a number of things wrong with it, but I've been working on this on and off for a while, and it delivers the general idea and details, so eh.

And I'm pretty glad that I'm not like a design anything officially cause otherwise I'd have to do even more variations, and for everything.
