Description
When I’m pressed for time when drawing I tend to default to the oval, sclera-less pupils you see Jesse with in this comic. Usually I switch them to more realistic eyes when penciling - but in this, Jesse kept them as a stylistic compromise with the glasses.

This has had one weird consequence - I was drunk and reading Calvin and Hobbes at one point, and got this sudden strong sense that the strip I was looking at reminded me of the comic I was working on. Which I thought was stupid, until I pulled up the finished pages and compared the pink panel at the top left of this strip , to the top left panel on this page. Hobbes’ eyes, the body language, the composition, even the plaid/stripe placement match. I have no idea what to do with this information, but it’s been haunting me ever since.
