Description
(Anyone know what category this should be in?)Happy 101th deviation people! Now you all know how horribly horrible my drawings used to be. They're still not great, but at this rate I should be super fantastically amazing by the year 2052. It's going to be like three dimensional sparkling orgasmic bliss, with technicolors, speedlines, and psuedo realism. Oh yeah, watch out. I'll be one pimpin' 60 year old.
If you want to see some of the better older pictures, check the first couple of pictures in my Scraps .

I completely agree.
So here's an anime for you: have you ever heard of "Escaflowne?"

XD There's only one place I know that may have it, so I'll see. Thankfully, my anime loving cousin will be coming soon so I'll have the perfect excuse to go to Madison and get it.

Yeah, yeah! I would lend it too you, 'cept I don't know if I can pass things through alternate dimensions.
The movie doesn't even compare to the series. They're two totally different animals, and the storyline itself is incredibly different. It's one of those anime that managed to survive highschool-- four years of growing up and I still love it, it's a shame it's not nearly as popular as it deserves to be.
I hope you find it! Best of luck for you and your anime loving cousin.

Oh yes the music. Escaflowne has the same music composer as Cowboy Bebop, and I love them both. I got a Bebop CD and my brother got an Escaflowne CD ('cause we secretly dig instrumental audio candy).

I pulled up an entry on her in Wikipedia to get the complete list. Carcaptor Sakura, RahXephon, Ghost in the Shell Series, Wolf's Rain (squee!), Ragnarok Online 2... and some companies commissioned Kanno for commerical music, like Canon, Hitachi, Microsoft (wow!), Nikon, Nintendo, Nissan, Seven Eleven (ha ha), Sony, and Toyota.
Ha ha, I knew she was popular, but I had no clue she was that popular.

mhm ^w^ its amazing how popular she is, but she really deserves it.
I love the music in Ghost in the Shell, i have both opening songs and ending songs. The opening ones are both sung by Origa but composed by her and they are really something to listen to. The vocals are really amazing.

Ah XDD than this is where I recommend it to you. It's a lot deeper, and serious, but still really good.

I remember watching one episode, and I really liked the concept, the art, the flow, etc, but I found it just a little, well, boring.

I can understand. Some episodes I fall asleep in just because it bores me, but there are some really good ones. *nod*

Is it worth digging through the boring episodes for the good ones?

hmm...depends. I found i enjoyed 2nd gig a lot more, but it seemed like there were more sort of filler episodes in that one. Though the filler episodes are nothing like how, for example, Naruto or Inu-Yasha filler episodes are. That's really nice because even if they at first seem like they dont fit, they actually work towards the plot, and not just random shit. XD
