A month has passed since your escape. Taria muses that you wouldn't be able to carry her to safety if the need arises again, and she's probably right... but with each uneventful day that passes, you both begin to think that luck might just be on your side. The priory didn't have the manpower or will to find you this far across the world. You have a home now- a field to work (one of you works it, anyway), and a future full of possibilities. She bends her leg, getting comfortable, and you watch as it presses into that sea of fat that had developed on her lap. It's no secret that your friend here contributes a bit less to your shared survival... but you feel she deserves her luxury. She's worn less and less clothes as she outgrows her wardrobe, how could you complain? This morning you'd laughed as she rode her favorite horse across the field, desperately trying to keep herself from jiggling too much. You'd begun to help her bathe, slathering soap over the plump areas she couldn't reach as well anymore. And you'd surprised her with two big fruit cakes from the market- you were on a first name basis with the baker already- and she had literally wept with joy.
