Description
So, this drawing takes place a good while after 'As A Team' and features Kion and Rani's first two children, their oldest and first son Hami and their daughter Eshe. I have the makings of a future story featuring these two and their other siblings, more on that later. The newborn is the newest cub to the pride and Kion and Rani's second daughter; Amari. Her birth was far more turbulent than her older siblings with Rani going into early labour a few days before both Makini and Nirmala predicted, causing her to be born while Rani was on patrol and half way across the valley with only Beshte by her side and Ono gone to get help. Because of Beshte's invaluable help during the birth and protecting Rani from danger until the rest of the Night Pride, Amari was named in his honour, with her name meaning 'possesses great strength'. This is set a few days afterwards, with Amari being isolated given her... rambunctious siblings who wouldn't stop questioning their exhausted father and uncle Baliyo to help boost her poor health and bond with her parents, they finally get to spend time with their newborn sister.
Here, an exhausted Kion who has been taking care of both their two energetic, albeit confused and scared, cubs while continuously stressing over his mate and daughter. The rest of the Guard, especially Bunga, have tried to distract the two cubs to give the King some peace in what little moment he could get while not dealing with his subjects, caring for his worn-out wife, and being terrified out of his mind on whether or not his newborn daughter would be alive the next morning. So yeah, stressful time to say the least.
But, finally at the request of Rani and the conformation that she would be fine from Nirmala, Kion introduced his children to their sister. Eshe, seeing how worried her father had been and how little the pride told them, was understandably scared for her little sister and vowed to protect her despite her father claiming their was no need for her to worry about that sort of thing. Hami, being the more collected and logical of the two, was content to wait and meet his sister in due time and wasn't quite that interested in having another annoying little sister who would probably try to force herself into the games he played with his friends or his lessons with his mother on taking the crown one day. Given time, however, both would soon bond with Amari and form an unified defense for their sickly little sister and eventual other siblings.
Just to note, I am busy with college work at the moment but do hope to do more for this future verse of sorts I'm planning, as well as art for other things too. I will make bios for each of the cubs in my future and the rest of the Guard's possible futures. Any questions are more than welcome!
